Tomboys are girls
Brainiacs are girls
Girls who hate pink are girls
Athletes are girls
Non-makeup-wearing girls? GIRLS!
Dress-hating frilly-stuff-shunning girls? Also GIRLS!
People who say you can’t? LAME!
People who say, “but, you’re a girl.” DUH! AND?
People who say, “what about nursing?” when you want to be a neurosurgeon? SO OVER THEM!
But what if they’re your parents or teachers or guidance counselors or some boy or… or or or…
You are you. No one else.
Which means no one else thinks like you, feels like you, knows you like you do.
Follow your passion. Or passions. No matter who says what.
Limitations? Specifically gender limitations? (“Girls can’t, girls shouldn’t, girls aren’t wired for…”)
That’s make-believe. Let’s leave the fairytales to Disney.
Want to be a doctor coder engineer scientist architect inventor geologist technician neurologist pharmacist researcher veterinarian wildlife biologist biochemist astronomer climatologist?
If you don’t know people who support your passion and goals, find them (they’re out there), hold on tight, then…
You got this.
